6-8 pm The first official event is Loon and Lakes Trivia at 14 Lakes hosted by Mary Jo Fritsvold, Maddi Nistler and Shannon Watters.
Bring your lead tackle for proper disposal to receive extra points towards the grand prizes!
Friday, January 31:
3:30-5:30 Cabin Fever - kids crafts and games at the Community School
6:30-8:30 Outdoor Family Fun including campfire beverages and snacks, fireworks, music, games and prizes.
Saturday, February 1:
10-2 Tours at Northern Minnesota Railroad museum
10-3 Craft show at Gathering Event Center
11-1 Tote Decorating at Moonlite Bay
11-2 Family Fun with indoor and outdoor games and crafts at Townsquare
12 noon - Soup Fest - Sample and vote on soups all over town
12-3 bonfire, t-shirt coloring and smores at the Army Corps Campground
1-4 Radar Run on the Bay at Moonlite Bay
Throughout the entire weekend there are TONS of various events at the local businesses including live music, meat raffles, bingo and more!!!

Real Estate Corner:
January in northern Minnesota is still pretty quiet for real estate. It has it's moments of picking up when the weather gets warm. But as soon as it picks up...it cools right off with the thermometer. If you are actively looking for a house, you will find a few properties on the market, as always but not a large selection. If you are thinking of selling, the best time to sell is exactly when you want to BUT January still holds strong as a typically slow month for active buyers. Every buying and selling situation is unique. If you want to discuss your specific situation, please reach out!
Recipes of the Month:
This is a great "warm your soul" Minnesota favorite!!! I made it the other day for my "Loonie" friends (my Trivia-hosting partners, Mary Jo and Maddi). I do, however skip the pimentos and substitute fresh mushrooms for the canned mushrooms.
Always good and so easy to make!!
